Changing Resolutions to ReVolutions!

Resolutions are broken left and right, the word is not synonymous with change - for many it almost represents unfulfilled promises to yourself you make once a year.  Time to CHANGE that in 2012.  This year don’t make resolutions, make reVolutions. 

I don’t mean to revolt against the government or try to overturn things; I am referring to creating a ‘radical change’ in your life.  Creating change, takes action not just unfulfilled or half attempted promise.  Revolutionize 2012. 

We all have things we wish to change, some of these changes are radical - some are not; but in my experience even small changes can make radical difference in your life.

Tip #1 for your 2012 ReVolution:
Only reVolutionize things YOU can control.  Don’t try to force your spouse into a new job or your kid’s to get great grades this year.   If those are important to you - then maybe you commit to being a more supportive spouse or sitting down an hour each evening to help your kids one on one. Remember you can’t change what you don’t control.

Tip #2 ReVolutionaries ACT:
Don’t just say it, type it, or tell your best friend... do it! 

Tip #3 Little steps eVolve into BIG Changes:
How many of us try to tackle resolutions in a BIG way on January 1st? We plan a one to two hour workout 4 days a week to get more fit.  How many people quit by January 5th?  Instead of triple the intensity on Day 1, just start with 2 15 minutes of walks per day.  You can increase little by little, but at least you won't quit by the 5th because it almost killed you.

Tip #4 Written Words Have ReVolutionized the World:
Write it down, tape your reVolutionary change to your computer screen, make them your screen saver, set up a reminder system to pop it to you daily, and do it regularly.  We ‘tune out’ things that stay consistent in our environment...but if you rewrite your reVolutionary changes regularly, changes will happen.

Remember, we don't have to change the world, just ReVolutionize our corner of it.
